Premade Districts

Viewing Existing Maps

Redistricter has a library of premade maps for every state including:

  • 2020, 2022, and 2024 congressional districts
  • 2020 and 2022 state legislative districts
  • Example gerrymanders and neutral maps from Old Redistricter

To view any of these, navigate to the map browser and select the Premade Map option in the right sidebar. There you can select the state, district type, and year you’d like to view, click Open map, and they will be loaded into Redistricter. If you make any changes to the map, a duplicate of the map with those changes will be saved to your account which you can return to later.

If there’s a map you’d like to view that isn’t available as a premade map, you can import the shapefile for that map into Redistricter using the import districts tool.
